Artist Statement

From a young age my love of the arts has influenced my academic and professional career. The past decade I have spent studying and practicing art more closely. Fine arts were emphasized at South Shore International College Prep through a 2 year IB art program .

Following high school i studied art abroad independently in Tuscany, Rome, Paris, and Germany then attended Depaul University for Fine Arts

I completed a two year international baccalaureate program in arts and literature as a high school senior. The two year program entailed research of art history, practice of material, making deadlines, outlines, thesis statements; conventional testing, and non conventional testing with student art exhibits.

The process portfolio is one of the ways the IB program tracks understanding of art history, & interpreting art. this was a space where prompts were individually addressed through further knowledge of art history, compare and contrast, and historical context.

Progress Portfolio

PP are a tool I used to record growth, exhibit level technique/skill, and use of material. Some of the steps i take in recording progress are written brain storms and outlines, material test, sketching, context, title, and reference pictures
